WHY WALLABY
You know there are many snack bars, energy
bars and health bars on the market, so what makes the Wallaby bar so
special?
Its all the good things you will find in a Wallaby Bar. See
for yourself what goes into a Wallaby.
Omega 3 |
Omega 3 Essential
Fatty Acids or EFA’s are required by the body and can only
be obtained by digestion. Omega 3 EFAs are essential to proper
brain function, they help to keep nerve cell membranes flexible.
Omega 3 EFAs are also involved in immunity, digestion, circulation
and the maintenance of body temperature (homeostasis). |
Calcium |
Calcium builds
strong teeth and bones, it is involved in blood clotting, muscle
contraction and nerve impulses. |
Dietary Fibre |
We all know how
good it is to have some roughage in your diet, need we say more. |
Rice extract |
A natural brown
rice syrup used to sweeten and bind the ingredients together. Not
nasty like sugar and its good for your digestion. |
Real fruit pieces |
Well its fruit
in pieces! |
Vanilla flavour |
From the pod of
course! |
Potassium |
Potassium is an
electrolyte (a substance that maintains your body's fluid levels),
this mineral helps regulate blood pressure and heart function.
Research shows that increasing your potassium intake can lower
your blood pressure. |
Vitamin C |
Need we explain! We
all know its good for us! |
Vitamin E |
Vitamin E acts
as a powerful antioxidant by neutralizing free radicals in the
body that cause tissue and cellular damage. Vitamin E also contributes
to a healthy circulatory system and aids in proper blood clotting
and improves wound healing. |
Iron |
Essential for strong
and healthy muscles and organs. |
Soy Protein |
Soy Protein is
very low in fat, contains no cholesterol and contains phytochemicals
that are strong antioxidants. Good Stuff! |
All the other bars tell you how good they are for
you, how great they taste and how natural they are – but very few
are. Often they are packed with things that really aren’t
that nice or very good for you.
To save you the trouble, we’ve read a lot
of labels and have listed some of the ingredients that raised our concerns. We
can certainly guarantee that you won't find any of these things in a
Wallaby:
Glucose |
Another name for
sugar. We don’t add any of this to the Wallaby bars & treats. |
Honey |
More sugar. Sorry
none of that in Wallaby bars & treats either. |
Peanuts |
Very cheap to buy
and not a lot of nutritional benefits in them either. Full
of nasty fats too! No peanuts in Wallaby Bars & Treats |
Preservative 220 |
Derived from coal
tar, known to provoke gastric irritation, nausea, diarrhoea, skin
rash, asthma attacks and difficult to metabolise for those with
impaired kidney function, also destroys vitamin B1, and should
be avoided by anyone suffering from conjunctivitis, bronchitis,
emphysema, bronchial asthma, or cardiovascular disease. Now
that doesn’t sound very healthy! |
Preservative 223 |
Similar to 220! |
Emulsifiers 471 |
Mono and Di-Glycerides
of Fatty Acids, now that sounds scary, allows water & oils
to mix, mostly derived from soy beans, seeds, peanuts and maize. |
Substitutes, like
soy grits |
A nut substitute – why
not just use the real thing? |
Trans fats |
Very bad things
like hydrogenated oils & palm kernel oil – not the good
fat we need to stay healthy, this in the unhealthy kind. |
Glycerine |
Could be from animal
fats. It is commonly used in cosmetics – yuck!
|
Hydrogenated Oil |
Very bad trans
fats – not the good fat we need to stay healthy, this is
the unhealthy kind. |
